The ROSES 2023 Solar System Workings (SSW) Program   Appendix C.3
  | |
NOTICE: This program element does not have a proposal due date. Proposals may be submitted at any time, pending certain eligibility timing issues related to resubmissions and duplicate proposal avoidance. See C.1, section 2.4 for further information.
  | |
The Solar System Workings (SSW) program element supports research into the wide variety of physical and chemical processes throughout the Solar System. The SSW program is open to investigations relevant to surfaces and interiors of planetary bodies, planetary atmospheres, rings, orbital dynamics, exospheres and magnetospheres, and other parts of our Solar System.
  | |
Each proposal to SSW must present a complete scientific investigation to be conducted, and describe what data and resources will be used, the investigation’s methodology, and how the investigation will achieve closure of the proposal’s goals. Proposals that aim to address questions from the Origins, Worlds, and Life: A Decadal Strategy for Planetary Science and Astrobiology 2023 – 2032 may be prioritized.
  | |
Proposals to this program element may be submitted at any time without any preliminary statement such as a Notice of Intent or Step-1 proposal. Proposals submitted to this Program Element must follow all formatting and context requirements that are described in program element C.1 and Section IV(b)ii of the ROSES Summary of Solicitation.

All data within the Planetary Data System (PDS) are available to support this call. The standard rule for use of mission data has been that unless otherwise specified, spacecraft mission data to be used in proposed work must be available in the Planetary Data System (PDS), or an equivalent, publicly accessible, archive, at least 30 daysprior to the full proposal due date. For No Due Date (NoDD) programs the 30-day rule applies to the submission date of the proposal rather than the due date. The calendar of record for data released in the PDS is the PDS Data Release Calendar .
  | |
Proposals submitted to this Program Element must include an Open Science and Data Management Plan (OSDMP).(See Appendix C.1, Section 3.7).
  | |
Mission data are available from the Planetary Data System (PDS).
