Release Note:	In release 16, the complete set of pitch angle spectrograms containing both plots in PNG format and also data points in text format (.TAB files) were released. These are daily products covering the entire Mercury orbit years instead of just selected time periods. These may be found in the EPS_PA_DAILY_SPECTROGRAM directory within the archive volume. Contains a turorial whose purpose is to enable the user to interpret the density, temperature, and pressure (NTP) moments from observations by the Fast Imaging Plasma Spectrometer (FIPS) on MESSENGER. These parameters are useful for a variety of investigations of Mercury?s plasma environment. For example, these moments were used to determine the average characteristics of the plasma sheet (Raines et al., 2011; Gershman et al., 2014) and to distinguish the plasma sheet from the magnetotail lobes (Sun et al., 2016). The derived moments were also used to assess the pressure balance across the dayside magnetopause to understand the nature of dayside magnetic reconnection at Mercury (Gershman et al., 2013). he tutorial includes a primary document, sample IDL codes and sample data.
