Introduction
============
This volume contains ICE solar wind plasma electron anlyzer observations.
Brief Volume Description
----------------------
This data set is organized into 5 principal sub-directories:
CATALOG PDS catalog templates describing the ICE mission,
spacecraft, instruments, and data set
DATA science data from the solar wind plasma experiment and ephemeris
DOCUMENT documents describing instruments, data sets, or software
contained on this volume
INDEX index of all user files contained on this volume

========
The person most directly responsible for the construction and release of
this volume is Mr. Steven Joy. He was the PPI Node Data Administrator at the
time this volume was created and understands as much about the structure
and data organization as anyone. Other PPI personnel who may be aware of
about issues related to this volume include Dr. Raymond Walker, the PDS/PPI
node manager.

This compact disk (CD-ROM) is one of a 2-disk set containing data
obtained through the efforts of the International Halley Watch (IHW)

These are the last CD-ROMs of the Comet Halley archive, volumes 25 and 26.
In addition to the data themselves, the disks contain a wide variety of
supporting files and tools for the Archive user; the major categories are
documentation, ephemeris information, searchable tables and indices, and
software (source code as well as executable modules). These have been
organized into three principal directories one level below the root: DOCUMENT
INDEX, and SOFTWARE. It is suggested that the Archive user review the
document files listed below before roaming through the multi-level data
directories. There is one file, CDSTRUCT, in the DOCUMENT directory that
is a complete listing of files (with path) organized by Logical Block Number.
/DOCUMENT/VOLINFO.TXT Brief guide to use of disks
/DOCUMENT/CDTREE.TXT Schematic, annotated layout of disk
/DOCUMENT/ESA_1066/*.TXT A brief description of each mission
The time period covered for this volume (26) is Sep 08, 1985 to Sep 14,
1985 for comet G-Z and Feb 27, 1986 to March 10, 1986 for comet Halley.
All of the text files on this disk have fixed length records padded to
80 or 132 bytes per record. The last two characters of each record are
a carriage return and line feed. This has been done to files with the
following extensions (*.DOC, *.LBL, and *.TXT).
