The InSight IFG (InSight Fluxgate Magnetometer) data bundle contains several
collections, each of which is briefly described below:
document: Documents that should be considered required reading
for this bundle.
Insight_IFG_SIS - This document describes the archive
contents and structure, from science objectives, to file naming
conventions, to what's stored in byte 78 of file XXX.tab
InSight_IFG_Data_Calibration_Description - This document
describes the IFG ground and in-flight calibration and
data processing. It also includes sections that describe
the types of artifacts that are found in the data and how
they are documented and/or corrected.
PolymonialFits - A text file that gives the time varying
polynomial coefficients that describe the diurnal corrections
applied to the IFG data.
ReleaseNotes - A text files that describes the various
InSight data releases.
browse: A collection of PNG plots of the 0.2Hz continuous data, one
file per sol.
calib: A collection of files (one per release) that contain the
corrections to the IFG data (delta-B's) that have been applied
to the data, and the model and actual temperature and current
values used to compute those corrections.
data-sc-engineering: A collection of spacecraft engineering and ancillary
data parameters, many of which can be correlated with artifacts
in the IFG data. Data are stored as ASCII tables with column
headers in line 1.
data-ifg-raw: This collection contains the raw IFG magnetic field vectors
and some of the ancillary data parameters that are required for
data calibration and processing. Data are stored as ASCII tables
with column headers in line 1.
data-ifg-partially-processed: A collection of partially processed data. These
data have been converted to units of nanoTesla and have had diurnal
variations that are correlated with the spacecraft systems removed.
Data are provided in IFG instrument and spacecraft coordinates.
Data are stored as ASCII tables with column headers in line 1.
data-ifg-calibrated: A collection of calibrated data files that are provided
in spacecraft and geophysical (north, east, down) coordinates. Any
artifact identification and removal that can be done at the time
of a given InSight data release has been applied to these data. In
addition, these files contain a data quality flag that tells the user
what (if any) corrections have been applied to the data and which
artifact types remain present. Data are stored as ASCII tables
with column headers in line 1.
